Picture from the past

This was our group photo from our youth group mission trip to Foundation For His Ministries somewhere in Baja California, Mexico, in 1995. Wow, 12 years ago! There were several people that I had forgotten were on this trip. Nobody was married yet, Helen and Jasen were just beginning to "spark". Every one is very different now. (I sure hope so after 12 years!) Anyway, since I just found this photo, I thought it would be interesting and memorable for some people. Also, Happy Groundhog's day!

That was a great trip with you guys. It is fun to see the changes that occur over time. And look at what we know now compared to then. Who would have thought "Caren Cooke"?

Our love to you.

Yup, that's Lee! And yes, Matthew and I would have been shocked to know that 6 years later we would be married!

What a great memory! Jasen and I weren't quite sparking yet, but I think the way I responded to the live bugs in my bag, really impressed him alot :) Who is the girl next to you Caren in the green t-shirt?

Hmmm, I distinctly remember some sparks! Anyway, that is Kendra next to me. I'd forgotten about your bug episode! HA HA! Remember the deerslayer?

Wow! Everyone looks so young. Caren, who is the girl in the pink shirt sitting next to Kim? Is that Jenn Maloney (Gould)?

The pink shirt girl was a worker at the orpanage who was our team's leader. She organized our daily schedules and worked with us. She was nice and seemed to enjoy our group. Jenn's family was in the prossess of moving accross the country, and made her join them instead of us, much to her dismay.

Yes Caren I remember the deerslayer I think one of the guys (Jasen just informed me it was him!!)squished it with a hacky sack!! I also remember that it made it back to Ketchikan in your luggage and was preserved in something until it eventually disintergrated :) This post caused me to get out my journal from that trip, ya know the one I made everyone do!! I am reading about where Jasen & Derek were being driven around by a girl who had never driving before, they ended up crashing into a tree all the while singing "soon & very soon we are going to see the King!!" Also, mixing cement by hand with Beth, Matthew, & Jerry and builidng a fence.....and the best tacos in the world from that street vendor :)

This was a great post Caren, Jasen and I have had a good laugh over the memories!!

Wow! That pic sure brings back memories. The kid that was sitting on my shoulders had been chewing on a piece of bread. I ended up with soggy bread bits in my ear!
