Latest Kid Pics

Meadow loves trying on everyone's shoes! She was especially excited to wear "Daddy's Big Boots"! Logan is now sleeping in his crib in Meadow's room. I was afraid they would wake each other up in the night, but so far it's been fine! The last picture is of the kids riding in their new [wonderful, amazing, so easy to push, fantastic] very nice double jogging stroller with a raincover on it! -amplified version. It was an early Christmas present from my mom.

Hello, We're Back

We had a very nice weekend in Bellevue. Matthew and I went out for dinner one night to the Cheesecake Factory while Auntie Christy babysat. That was very nice! We also went to Woodland Park Zoo. Meadow enjoyed it, but was almost more excited about the crows landing on the path than the exotic animals who were mostly sleeping because of the heat! Then toward the end (having missed her nap) she had a meltdown because I told her no, she couldn't ride the zebra! One of the pictures shows her showing off her stylish hedgehog purse which is what she chose from the gift shop. In the cave picture, she and Matthew are looking at a grizzly bear. Logan enjoyed his time with auntie Christy too.

Off to Seattle

We are leaving tomarrow morning for Seattle. We will be staying with Christy and hopefully doing some fun things like going to the zoo! The weather there is in the 80's! Meadow is excited. Every time she hears a jet take off, she says, "Seattle, Farley, Annie!" (Christy's two cats.) Of course, EVERY jet is going there to visit Farley and Annie. Here's a picture of Logan who just learned how to sit up! Well, we will be back Tuesday. Then I'll put on more pictures. Bye bye!

Big Kids!

Today Logan had his 4 month check-up, and got some shots.(See his bandaids on both legs.) He was very brave and stopped crying as soon as I picked him up. He weighs 13 lbs. 3 oz. and is 24" long! Two feet tall! Meadow weighs 28 lbs. and is 34" tall! She is in the 90th % for height and 80th% for weight! (meaning only 10% of girls her age in America are taller!) Logan is at about 25% for both.

Big 4 month old!

Logan got his first taste of food! He had yummy rice cereal, which he gobbled up with glee! He also has recently learned to roll over, and he's starting to move in a circle when he's on his tummy. I'm sure this sounds very basic, but to him life is getting so exciting. He can reach toys now!

Names

I know last names used to come from a person's occupation, but now I find it amusing when people have a job that matches their name. I've been keeping a list of such matches for a long time. I promise these are all real. I've either read them or seen them on TV (documentaries and stuff, not movies or sitcoms).
Steve Carpenter - General Contractor
Mike Stone - stone tile expert
Dwight Stampflee - former postmaster
Gay Pressman - news reporter
Mrs. Paige - Librarian
Dr. Gary Alter - plastic surgeon

Playing Tourist

This morning Matthew and I got to go on the Sapphire Princess with a crew member friend of his dad. We had breakfast at one of the buffets, then got to explore the ship! We could have all the tea and coffee we wanted. We played ping pong and then had lunch. It seems like a nice ship. We would love to go on a cruise sometime!

Blueberry Festival

Today was the annual Blueberry arts festival. My
mom and I went to look with the kids. It was very crowded and had the usual people there selling their crafts. This year I finally entered the juried art show. One of my drawings got an honorable mention and the people's choice award! The penguin drawing didn't win anything though. I think people consider pencil drawings as just a sketch, and don't realize how difficult and time consuming it is to make it as detailed and smooth as the ones I draw. I was kind of expecting that. One of the pictures shows the second place winner, which was a watercolor of a bird. First place was a quilt, which was fairly nice, but how do you judge a quilt against a drawing or painting? They should have a separate category for 3D items. The third place winner was a large oil painting of a guy rowing a boat on some gray water with a gray sky. There were other oil paintings that I liked better, but BIG things always seem to win. (sorry artist if you're reading this, just my opinion)

Carrots for Breakfast?!

Yup, that's what she asked for at breakfast this morning! Usually she has bananas with her Cheerios, but today it was carrots! Here she is praying for her food. She always bows her head and folds her hands and enthusiastically says, "AMEN!"

Talented Meadow

Meadow is an artist and musician!
Matthew wants to learn drums, so he brought home this drum that was getting thrown away. Meadow plays it very well! She always sticks out her tongue
while she plays. I guess it helps keep rhythm!

Here's another random question:
If you had to pick from this list of jobs, which one would you choose? (Assuming they all paid the same.)
Aerobics instructor, McDonalds cook, QVC sales person, massage therapist

Arizona trip

We just returned from a wonderful 5 days in Arizona! Our family arrived in Phoenix along with my parents, where we were blasted with 114 degree heat....at night! We visited some family and spent the night then drove to Tucson to meet William & Katie & kids! It was a little cooler in Tucson, around 100 degrees. (As you can see, five hot kids without their shirts!) We stayed at the Starr Pass Golf Suites, which was very nice! Meadow loved playing with her cousins. She and Lane spent the first 20 minutes just following each other around the room. The kids were very good about sharing their toys with Meadow. It was way too hot to do anything outside during the day but in the evenings we all enjoyed the nice big pool. One of the days there was a big thunderstorm which fascinated Meadow.

Traveling Tots

Our kids should win an award for being the best little travelers ever! They were so good on our crowded flights to and from Arizona! Logan gets to wear the jet bib now. Just like his sister, he smiled at everyone and got all the people around us smiling back. Meadow was standing up blowing kisses to everyone!

3rd & 4th of JULY

On the 3rd, we went to see the booths. There was nothing Meadow could do, but a fireman gave her a balloon. Then we fed pigeons at Whale park. Meadow loved it! I like this picture with the pigeons flying away. Meadow enjoyed watching the parade and eating some candy! Just before the parade started she went into the road (there was no traffic by this time) and "paraded" in front of the people smiling and waving her flags! Everyone thought she was so cute!
